Bespoke custom joinery made to your exact brief in Drogheda
Bespoke joinery in Drogheda covers everything standard suppliers can't make — window seats, radiator covers, stair parts, one-off furniture — designed, built, and fitted to your exact brief.
The short answer
What's a one-off piece going to cost? It depends on the timber, the size, and the detail — a radiator cover is a small fixed job, while a window seat with storage is priced on design and materials. Either way, you get a fixed quote before anything is made.
Timeline-wise, simpler pieces run two to three weeks from measure to install; more involved joinery runs three to six weeks because it's drawn up and built in the workshop, not improvised in your hallway.

The one-off pieces we're usually asked to make
The radiator that ruins the room. It's the first thing you see when you walk in, and every shop-bought cover looks like exactly that — a box hiding a radiator.
A bay window doing nothing. You can picture a window seat with storage under it — you just can't buy one that fits a bay that size, in a house that age.
The alcoves that collect clutter. Two recesses either side of the chimney breast, and nothing off the shelf fits the width — so they gather stacks of stuff instead of proper shelving.
Something you've seen and can't find. A piece in a photo, a magazine, a friend's house — and you want it made for your space, in your timber, at your size.

What's included
Everything a bespoke joinery commission covers
- Design conversation and measure. We visit, measure the space, and sketch through options with you — reference photos and magazine clippings welcome.
- Drawings before cutting. Your piece is drawn up and agreed before any timber is cut, so you know exactly what you're getting.
- Timber and finish samples. Oak, walnut, ash, painted hardwood — real samples at the measure, not a screen image.
- Workshop build. Made with traditional joinery — dovetailed drawers, mortise and tenon frames — not flat-pack assembly.
- Finishing. Oils, lacquers, or paint in the colour of your choice, applied in the workshop where the finish cures best.
- Fitting and scribing. Installed and scribed to your walls and skirtings so the piece sits like it grew there.

Why MS Carpentry
Why MS Carpentry for joinery
The same hands, start to finish
The person who sketches your piece is the person who builds and fits it. Your brief doesn't get reinterpreted by a sales rep, a factory, and a fitting crew.
Genuinely one-off
Every commission is drawn and built to your room's exact dimensions and your choice of timber and finish. No standard carcasses trimmed to fit, no "closest size."

Questions about joinery
Before you pick up the phone
Every piece is priced individually after a measure, because the timber, the size, and the detail all move the figure. A radiator cover is a small fixed job; a window seat with storage or a one-off piece of furniture is priced on design and materials. You always get a fixed, itemised quote before any work starts — and it's free to ask.
Anything standard suppliers can't: window seats, radiator covers, alcove units, stair parts, shelving, boot-room joinery, display cabinets, and one-off furniture pieces. If you've seen something you like in a photo or a magazine, bring it — that's usually how the best briefs start.
A simple piece like a radiator cover is typically two to three weeks from measure to install. More involved pieces — a window seat with storage, a one-off cabinet — usually run three to six weeks, because they're drawn up and built in the workshop before we come near your house. You get a firm install date when the quote is agreed.
Oak, walnut, ash, and painted hardwood for the visible parts, with quality birch ply and MDF where it makes sense structurally. Finish options run from natural oils and lacquers through to any paint colour you can name. We bring samples to the measure so you can see and feel the difference.
No more than any good furniture. Oiled timber appreciates a top-up coat every couple of years; lacquered and painted finishes just need a soft cloth and a gentle cleaner. We leave care advice for the specific materials in your piece at handover.
