Internal doors fitted and made to measure in Drogheda
Internal doors in Drogheda are typically hung in a day per room, with made-to-measure options for non-standard openings that off-the-shelf doors can't fit.
The short answer
What does it cost to have doors hung properly? Less than you'd think when it comes as one fixed quote — the real variable is whether you're supplying the doors or we are, and whether your openings are standard sizes. For most jobs we handle the full custom door installation Drogheda homes need: measure, trim, hang, and ironmongery.
Either way, you get one price that covers everything: trimming, hanging, hinges, latches, and making good around the frame. No day-rate surprises, no half-hung door left while someone "pops out for a part."

The jobs we're usually called in for
The door that never quite closed. It catches on the frame in winter, swings open on its own in summer, and the latch only works if you lift the handle just so.
A renovation with ten doors to swap. You've painted, plastered, and floored the whole house — and the old hollow-core doors with chipped paint are letting the whole job down.
A period house with odd-sized openings. Nothing in the builders' providers fits a 140-year-old terrace opening, and trimming a standard door that far ruins its proportions.
A door where there should be one. You're closing off an open-plan space, adding a utility door, or putting a sliding door on a tight en-suite — and need the frame made as well as the door.

What's included
Everything a proper door job covers
- Measure and advice. We measure every opening and talk you through door styles, materials, and finishes that suit the house.
- Supply or fit-only. We can source the doors for you, or hang doors you've already bought — whichever suits.
- Trimming and hanging. Doors trimmed to the opening, hung level and plumb, with even gaps all round.
- Ironmongery. Hinges, latches, locks, and handles fitted — including fire-rated ironmongery where required.
- Frames and linings. Adjustment or replacement of damaged frames, architraves, and stops so the door sits right.
- Made-to-measure doors. Bespoke doors built in the workshop for openings that standard sizes can't fit.

Questions about doors
Before you pick up the phone
Cost depends on the number of doors, whether you supply them or we do, and whether the frames need any adjustment. As a frame of reference: fitting a single pre-hung or standard door you've bought is a small fixed job, while a supply-and-fit package for a whole house is priced after a measure. You always get a fixed, itemised quote before any work starts.
Both. Most customers go for supply-and-fit — we help you choose the door style and source it, then hang it. If you've already bought doors from a supplier, we're happy to quote for fit-only, including trimming to size, hanging, and ironmongery.
Yes. Period terraces and older houses around Drogheda often have openings that no off-the-shelf door will fit. We make made-to-measure doors to your opening's exact dimensions, so you're not left with a trimmed-down hollow-core door or a gap you have to live with.
A straightforward swap of one door is usually a couple of hours. A full set of doors for a house is typically one to two days, depending on the count and any frame adjustments. Made-to-measure doors add workshop time before install — you'll have a firm date when the quote is agreed.
Panelled, flush, glazed, fire-rated, sliding, and bi-fold doors, in softwood, hardwood, oak, walnut, and primed finishes ready for paint. We also make bespoke doors in the workshop when a standard style won't suit the house.
Very little. A finished door just needs dusting and the occasional wipe with a barely-damp cloth. Timber moves a little with the seasons, so if a latch starts to catch after a damp winter, it usually just needs a minor adjustment — give us a call and we'll sort it.
