Custom storage in Drogheda for the spaces nothing fits
Custom storage in Drogheda turns the awkward spaces — alcoves, under-stairs, eaves, bay windows — into fitted storage that looks like it was always part of the house.
The short answer
Custom storage from MS Carpentry is designed, built, and fitted as one job — a single alcove unit might be done within a week or two of the measure, with larger under-stairs or full-wall projects taking a little longer. Everything is priced individually after a home visit, with a fixed, itemised quote before anything is built. Because each piece is made to measure, it fits the awkward space exactly — no gaps, no wasted corners.

Sound familiar?
The space under the stairs is a dumping ground of shoes, hoovers, and coats behind a door — when it could be drawers, pull-outs, and proper storage.
The spaces either side of the chimney breast are too narrow and too shallow for shop-bought bookcases, so they gather clutter instead of storing it.
Toys in the living room, coats on the bannister, the hallway table buried under post — the house has the space, just not in the right shape.
Attic eaves and bay window recesses are some of the most useful cubic footage in the house — and the hardest to fill with anything off the shelf.

What's included
Storage shaped to the space you have
Good custom storage doesn't look added on — it looks like the house was designed with it. Here's what the job covers when we take it on.
- Home measure and layout design. We measure the space properly and design around what you need to store, then give you a clear drawing with a fixed, itemised quote.
- Made-to-measure build. Every unit is built in the workshop to the exact dimensions of your alcove, under-stairs, eaves, or bay — in hardwoods like oak, ash, or walnut, or paintable boards.
- Interior fit-out that suits you. Adjustable shelving, soft-close drawers, pull-outs, hanging rails, or a hidden desk — planned around what actually goes in the unit.
- Any finish you like. Natural timber with oil or lacquer, or a sprayed painted finish in any colour — including matched to your wall colour so the unit disappears into the room.
- Scribed to your house. Units scribed to skirting boards, cornices, and uneven walls, so the finished work looks original to the house, not added on.
- Tidy install and walkthrough. Floors and surfaces protected, everything levelled and fixed securely, and a final check with you before we leave.

Common questions
Questions about custom storage
Custom storage is priced per project after a home measure, because the size of the space, the materials, and the interior fit-out all change the figure. A single alcove unit sits at the lower end, while a full wall of shelving or a complete under-stairs fit-out costs more. You always get a fixed, itemised quote before any work starts.
Under-stairs voids, alcoves either side of a chimney breast, bay windows, attic eaves, hallway walls, utility rooms, and home offices are the most common. If it's an awkward space that no shop-bought unit fits, that's exactly the kind of job we build for.
Most custom storage projects take one to three weeks from measure to install, depending on the size of the job. Because everything is built in the workshop, the on-site fitting is usually a day or two, and you'll have a firm install date before the build starts.
Yes. Units can be built in hardwoods like oak, ash, or walnut to sit alongside existing furniture, or in paintable boards sprayed in any colour — including matched to your wall colour so the storage disappears into the room. We scribe to your skirting and cornices so the fit looks original to the house.
Whatever you need stored: adjustable shelving, soft-close drawers, pull-out shoe racks, coat hanging, toy cupboards, a hidden desk, or cable-managed spaces for routers and printers. We plan the interior around what you're actually storing at the design stage.
A soft damp cloth with mild washing-up liquid keeps timber and painted finishes clean — avoid abrasive pads and solvent sprays. Painted units can be touched in with matching paint if they get knocked over the years. At handover we leave you with care advice for the specific materials used.
